Description: Exploration of sensory integration and its outcomes in people with cerebral palsy Review question 1: “What are the outcomes of sensory integration therapy in people with cerebral palsy?” Methodology The proposed scoping review will be conducted in accordance with the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology for scoping reviews. Inclusion criteria: ● Participants: The review will consider studies that included all the population of patients with cerebral palsy, not limited by age, type of the disorder or comorbidities supposed that it is possible to distinguish outcomes concerning the subgroup of people with cerebral palsy from outcomes of other subgroups of research participants. ● Concept: The review will consider studies on Sensory Integration (according to Ayres). ● Context: The review will consider studies conducted in a broad geographical context or therapeutic setting without limitations. ● Types of Sources: The review will consider all quantitative and qualitative research studies as well as systematic reviews. Text, opinion papers, all types of non-systematic reviews, and bachelor and diploma theses were excluded. No date or language limits will be set but the title and abstract at least has to be available in English. The searched databases: Academic Search Ultimate, CINAHL Plus, ProQuest Central, PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science. Sources of unpublished studies and grey literature searches included Mednar and OpenGrey. The reference list of all relevant studies will be screened for additional studies. Following the search, all identified citations will be collated and uploaded into Zotero-5.0.85, and duplicates removed. Titles and abstracts will then be screened by two independent reviewers (LH and KK) for assessment against the inclusion criteria for the review. Potentially relevant studies will be retrieved in full, and their full texts will be assessed in detail against the inclusion criteria by two independent reviewers (LH and KK). Any disagreements that arises between the reviewers at each stage of the study selection process will be resolved through discussion or with a third reviewer (JK). Studies excluded based on full-text analyses will be documented (with reasons) using a Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) flow diagram. Furthermore, data will be extracted by two independent reviewers (LH and KK) using a data extraction tool developed by authors. Any disagreements that arises between the reviewers will be resolved in discussion with a third reviewer (JK). The extracted data will be presented in tabular form in a manner aligning with the scoping review objectives. Finally, the studies will be sorted alphabetically; the extracted data will be summarized and presented in a table accompanied by a narrative summary. Data for extraction: Author, year Country / setting Participants (age, gender, number, diagnosis, including comorbiditites) Research design (levels of evidence according to JBI, including information on control group, length and frequency of intervention, outcome measures, etc.) Description of sensory intervention techniques Results / description of intervention outcomes Limits of the studies mentioned by authors
